On a sunny October afternoon my good friend Matthew took his girlfriend Amelia to a vineyard in upstate Connecticut and sacrificed his nice pants to get down on one knee to ask if she'd marry him. She said yes and they walked off into the sunset hand in hand (I wasn't there, but that's how I imagined it went down).
Getting engaged is one of the most exciting and equally overwhelming times in a couple's life together. It can become a sudden whirlwind of decisions, advice, planning, questions, answers, agreements and disagreements. Once in a while it's nice to take a step back, put the planning on hold and enjoy it. A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of shooting some engagement photos for Amelia and Matt and they did exactly that. They enjoyed it. We spent the afternoon at some of their favorite spots in Fairfield and what came through the lens was true love between two great friends and I couldn't be happier to share part of their story.
